Today is Thursday and Colton and I went into Copenhagen, Denmark to the zoo. We did it all by ourselves it was a little challenging but a lot of fun. The food is better here overall, and the people almost all speak English. So the people around me helped me get on the right train and buses to get to the zoo. In Germany almost all the water is carbonated (with gas) I really don't like it and over here it is not that way so that is a BIG improvement as well. We are meeting Mike for dinner and he is now officially off work until we get home. Here are a couple of pics at the zoo.

Monday and Tuesday we stayed in Immensen and packed our stuff to leave. On Wed. 5/12 we left Immensen and drove to Malmo Sweden. We took a ferry from Germany to Denmark, it was NOT like the one to South Padre. It was huge, like an airport inside with a gift shop, restaurant and places to sit at a table. Then we walked a little around malmo.

Trier

Wow the days are moving fast now. I wanted to post a few other things from last weekend. May 14-15. We went to Koblenz on Saturday and then to Burg Eltz Castle and Trier on Sunday. Trier was amazing with things from Roman times. We toured the castle and took a sight-seeing bus tour in Trier, we were the only ones on the top deck.

Koblenz- Rhine Valley

We went to Koblentz over the weekend. It is located where the Rhine and Moselle rivers come together. We walked around the city with amazing architect and fountains at each town center. We took a cruise down the Rhine river- that is Colton and Mike on the boat. The one with Colton and a telescope thing is the point where the rivers come together it is called the Deutch Eck.

Immensen

This is the town center for Immensen- a bench around a tree and a small pond (that Colton calls the salamander pond).

May 3 - 6 Immensen

We are staying in an adorable little village called Immensen, which is outside of Einbeck. Colton and I are here during the day while Mike is at work. It is like stepping back 100 years. Each house has its little plot of land "fenced off" with trees and bushes, a garden (with flowers and food), many have chickens and some with goats or pigeons etc. This community only has a Kindergarten (about age 3-5) and a bakery. Everything else you go to Einbeck for.

Last Day in Rothenburg.

On Sunday we had breakfast in the hotel, walked around the beautiful Burggarten (Castle gardens), toured the oldest church in Rothenburg- The Franciscan church (1285) and saw more of the town.

Afternoon of May 1st - Rothenburg

We toured an amazing old church St. Jakobs, did the Watchman tour at 8pm (the guy from Rick Steve's) and checked into our Bed and Breakfast.

Rothenburg May 1st & 2nd

These pictures are from Rothenburg. We had a great time in a cool walled medieval town. The first day we mainly walked around the town on top of the wall, shopped in the marketplace, ate Currywurst for lunch and schneeballs for dessert.

Wurzburg - May 1st & 2nd

Our first weekend we went to the medieval town of Rothenburg. I was about 3 hours from Einbeck on Germany's Romantic Road. It was a beautiful drive and we stopped in Wurzburg but didn't get out. These pictures are both from Wurzburg.

Where we are staying

We are staying upstairs in a flat. It is very cute!! Colton has his own room (in the living room). It has 2 bathrooms (right next to each other) a kitchen and our room. The lady downstairs (owner) is Mrs. Jentch (yench) she is VERY nice and won't let me do our laundry. "My washer, I do the wash".

Einbeck- April 29th

This is the town very close to wear we are staying. We are actually in Immensen which is a village that only has a Kinder school and houses. So to go to the store or anything else we have to go to Einbeck. The first picture is wear we had dinner and then Mike tried to teach Colton how to Hacky-Sack.

Getting here - April 29 - Amsterdam Airport

This is the Amsterdam airport. Colton loved the little carts, moving sidewalks and the cool faces on the wall.

Getting here - April 28

Colton and I left April 28th at 4:15pm from Austin. Actually we caught an earlier plane and left at 2:45pm from Austin and had quite a wait in Memphis, TN. This is Colton's first plane ride- he loved taking off, the sodas and the little trays that pulled down.
